Hamburg prides itself on being one of Pennsylvania’s Blueprint Communities. This venture does not so much rely on committee opinion as it does on community effort. In 2006, local business owners, residents, and community leaders combined their ideas on the ways and means of Borough enhancement and created a 10 year comprehensive action plan for Hamburg. Completed and future improvements are funded by various organizations, grants, property owners, and donations.
