We officially took over on 10/1. If you ever visited the Strand Theater, you may know us as The Sugar Mommas. Owned by April Henry and Tessa Goss, we supplied the area with freeze-dried candy for years. It has always been a dream of April’s to own her own bakery. Since we live in Hamburg, we always said that if Sweet Treats ever went up for sale we were going to purchase it and make it our own. The community loves Sweet Treats so we wanted to keep it the same but add our own flair, so we gave it a makeover and added new colors, lights and even cows! We will continue to serve Leiby’s ice cream which is a local favorite among the community. We have added many new things to the menu including ice cream parfaits, ice cream nachos, dirty sodas and of course the baked goods. April bakes from scratch and offers new items weekly including cakes, cupcakes, ice cream cakes, pumpkin rolls, of course the town favorite “tandy cakes” and pretty much whatever her heart desires. She can also do custom cake orders (more on that soon). We are doing soft pretzels and hot dogs currently on the weekends and that will probably expand on that during the summer months. We currently have an ice cream flavor of the month, sundae of the week and a weekly bakery feature that we post on Facebook and in the store every Monday. Stay tuned because we have a lot of new things in the works including an upgrade to our dirty sodas, and we will be incorporating our freeze-dried candy into the store.
